Parent Booster Newsletter

Greetings Passage Music Boosters!

We are so excited to kick off this holiday season with our music program. We have many opportunities to perform in our community. As we only have 3 directors and over 300 students in our program, we need your help! Come be a chaperone!!! Just a reminder, a chaperone is any adult over the age of 21.

Hollydazzle! – Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Saturday, December 5th. This is an experience our students will be talking about for years! The whole city turns out for Hollydazzle! This means that we will need a LOT of help! We need 20 chaperones to walk with the students from the bus to the stage and back, to help set up the stage, tear down the stage, and assist the directors in any way possible. We want our students to have a good time and be safe at the same time. One of the perks to chaperoning for Hollydazzle is that you get to ride on the bus with us! No parking headache! We will be meeting at Passage at 3pm on Sat., Dec. 5.  Please be sure to check the “YES” box on your child’s permission form to help chaperone!

Barnes & Noble – All Parents, Monday, December 7th.  The next event will be on Mon., Dec. 7. The Passage PTA is having a fundraiser at Barnes & Noble. A percentage of sales will go to the PTA. Our students will be performing and our Music Boosters have a 4-6pm slot for giftwrapping and will earn all of those donations towards our music program. If you would like to volunteer for this please let your director know! Also, let your friends and family know if they’ll be doing some holiday shopping to do it that day to benefit our school and music program!

Sounds of the Season – Advanced Orchestra, Advanced Band, and Chorus, Tuesday, December 8th.  On Dec. 8th WTKR’s Sounds of the Season will be filming our music program (Chorus, Symphony, Advanced Band, & Symphony Strings) from 10:30-11:45. To minimize distractions, only adults are welcome to help us keep our students focused and professional. Please arrive by 10:15 to not interrupt filming.

Great Wolf Lodge – Chorus, Wednesday, December 9th.  Dec. 9th our chorus will be performing at Great Wolf Lodge! Again, we’ll need 10 chaperones to escort students to/from the bus and to help encourage positive behavior along with Mrs. Powell.  Mrs. Powell will send out a separate permission form.  Please contact her for chaperone information!

IMPORTANT Concert Dates – ALL MUSIC PARENTS.  A few dates to remember (Students report at 5:30pm, Performances at 6:30pm – unless otherwise noted by your child’s director)

-Dec. 3rd Advanced Instrumental Ensembles performance

                  -Dec. 8th Chorus performance

-Dec. 10th Beginner Instrument Ensembles performance

Sing-Along BINGO – ALL MUSIC PARENTS, Monday, December 14th.  Lastly, we will be celebrating the end of our holiday performance season by having Sing-Along-Bingo! This will be held on Mon., Dec. 14 at 6pm in the cafeteria at Passage. The cost will be $5.00 and will include fifteen games of BINGO and a drink. We’re so excited to celebrate this season with you, the students, and our directors!

Sincerely,
